Educate

The Educate Program includes 8 live sessions in which caregivers will gain a more in-depth understanding of what autism is—and what it is not. Educate also dives into related services and therapies available for Autism, school documentation such as IEPs and 504 plans, and emphasizes caring for the caregiver by teaching signs of burnout and strategies to avoid it. This comprehensive approach equips families with knowledge and tools to confidently support their loved ones and themselves.

parents and family members of individuals newly diagnosed with Autism / 4 weeks

  • Educate starts by providing a deeper understanding of Autism and what exactly a diagnosis can mean. Each session offers a trusted place of support and understanding, where caregivers can skip the late-night Googling and get direct answers to their questions from a professional in the field.

  • This week’s focus is on therapies and related services that may accompany an Autism diagnosis. We will also begin discussing some of the “lingo” and acronyms that often accompany a diagnosis & its related services.

  • Week 3 is all about school. We discuss school documentation, how to advocate for the autistic individual in the school setting, and how Autism can affect learning & peer relationships.

  • An Autism diagnosis affects not only the autistic individual, but also those caring & advocating for them. Week 4 addresses signs of caregiver burnout and strategies to avoid it.

collaborate

The Collaborate Program offers a comprehensive approach to building essential emotional and social understanding in sibling and peer relationships. Through guided lessons on identifying feelings in oneself and others, conflict resolution, making amends, and understanding what makes a good friend (among more!), children gain valuable tools to navigate social interactions confidently and empathetically—all from the comfort of home. Collaborate also provides support and materials for caregivers to grow with their child and assist in their development.

Students ages 5-12 who struggle with social skills or peer relationships / 8 weeks

  • Collaborate starts by helping the participant identify feelings in themselves and others.

  • Participants will practice identifying what is within their control, and learn coping skills for things outside of their control.

  • Week 4 focuses on ensuring words and actions are perceived as intended. For instance, noticing how one’s tone and body language may come across to others.

  • Week 5 introduces skills such as identifying triggers and ensuring reactions accurately match the size of the problem. Week 5 serves as the pre-requisite for weeks 6 & 7, which teach conflict resolution strategies & skills to make amends, respectively.

  • In the last and final week, participants are ready to learn friendship safety. Navigating friendships can be tricky, and this week’s lesson will not only provide strategies for being a good & helpful friend, but will teach friendship “red flags” as well.
